Rivalry notes
CSK won the toss and chose to bowl. My team remains the same. Let's hope for some good fortune and the little chance of rain doesn't appear.
Well Kohli already kind of screwed things up as I write this but nothing really matters if I can maximise this boost and get 1400+ points. Already have more the team full including Head who doesn't get the 2x but I doubt transferring him for Gaikwad would be worth it. With everyone else being Indian already it just doesn't make sense to use double power so I'll just save that till CSK vs LSG. Transferring out Kohli, Patidar and Salam leaves me with 3 spots, 2 Indian batters and a bowler for just 27.5cr. Thankfully I already have most the expensive players so the wallet isn't much of a concern.
Looking at our options for batters Mhatre, Khan and Gaikwad leaves us with an interesting dilemma. As I'm using the 2x it's important to make the right choice between form vs experience. Gaikwad had been an excellent player in the past both in and out of the IPL but his top score this season is 28. Khan has been very consistent getting 17, 23, 32 and 50 in the 4 games he played. While not big numbers he's shown solid reliability with the capacity to perform well with enough time at the crease. Mhatre has been volatile with 2 terrible games, 1 good and 2 great games. Overall MUCH better than Gaikwad. In fact, his top score is more than Gaikwad's total after 5 games! This level of underperformance can't be ignored. So Gaikwad will not be making the cut.
For the bowler as it has to be an Indian the list is quite short. Sakib who debuted with a bang last game taking 4 wickets in the same stadium against the mighty RR. And potential players Khaleel and Gurjapneet. Neither have any history of talent nor shown talent this season so Sakib is the easy choice. I will be backing good old reliable Ishan as captain as anyone else would be a mistake. But VC is more debatable but the last 2 games have been great for him so I'll pick Samson. Oh and I checked and there's no rain, I probably should've started with that...
If you play a Double Power and can pick OS players too, Jamie Overton is a must have. Head has been worse than Klaasen but opens so I'd still prefer him as Klaasen could be coming in late against the weak CSK bowling lineup. Noor hasn't been great this season but definitely has a LOT of potential if things click for him which they finally might have last match. Brevis got a much better chance to showcase his abilities and he sure did scoring a rapid 41, making him a valid option for sure. I don't think I'm missing any big Indian talents in my 11 but you never know Dube could play like he did in his prime today...
Thanks for reading and I'll see you after the toss. And good luck for us all and hope this booster works out for anyone who plays it!
NOOO ISHANNNNN KISHANNNNN
