Rivalry notes
Post Toss: DC won and chose to bowl as expected and my team will remain the same, M Marsh C, K Yadav VC. But of the bowlers Lungi seems to be the only other good option. Between Axar and Markram I'd defintely choose Markram as as AR though Vipraj is a great cheap pick. Of the batter I'd only back Nissanka but Keepers are a completely different story. Pooran, KL and Pant are all super capable but that's the order I'd rank them so pick based on how much credit you have. I'll see you tomorrow and good luck to us all!
Better day today, but not by alot. I mean couldn't really get worse than that disaster. Shreyas Iyer leading the side with 76 as captain was an ehh return. Underwhelming haul but he didn't crumble atleast? As my captain you’re really hoping for at least a 50+ score. Prabhsimran Singh got 87 with VC, which is ok, just shy of being good. So again, useful, but not a difference-maker in terms of output. The real standout was Prasidh Krishna with 91, bowlers stepping up like that are really nice in fantasy, and he absolutely delivered. Arya with 13 is jut terrible. I didn't expect all three of PBKS's batters I had to fire but when the one's that "performed" were so average you'd hope for a few more points from Arya. Used 3 transfers as well, so there was a bit of investment that didn't off. Always a bit of risk making multiple moves, but it felt justified.
Missed a few good picks like the debutant Cooper who played excellent and the pretty cheap Vijaykumar too but not too upset as it was a low scoring game overall. The players I avoided I'm more thankful for as Stoinis, Siraj, Sai and many others didn't click at all. And slightly closed the gap between me and Nischal...
Today I had no players for this match meaning its a completely clean slate. But I only plan to use 2 transfers. Because A 160/69=2.3 which means you should alternate between 2 and 3 transfers (approx) to maintain that average and using 3 every game would mean you'd run out. B you should always have atleast 2 players to make use of C/VC unless it's a high chance of rain. C I already have three matches so it's not a bad idea to just keep them.
So of course Krishna is out he doesn't play for a while and then Shreyas too as that frees up some budget. I have 19.5cr and 2 OS slots so near full freedom just need to pick 1 bowler. The bowlers are all duds to be completely honest. Shami is older and unreliable at taking wickets, Rathi has a lot of potential but not much consistency. With Starc not playing Lungi and Kuldeep look like the best options and I've decided to take Yadav.
With my remaining 10cr I can take anyone (except Pooran) and KL, Pant, Axar, Marsh and Markram appear to be the best options. Axar might not get many overs but I can see him taking a wicket and 20+ runs. KL and Pant have shown the quality over the years. But if you just look at the 2025 season there's no contest, Mitch Marsh is the best by a wide margin. So if he plays I'll likely back him if not, I'll fall to the second best Markram who showed brillance at LSG last year that couldn't be imagined at SRH. Markram has the advantage of potentially bowling but I don't think he will.

With only 2 players, Cap is Marsh and VC is Yadav, which is an easy choice. I'm not expecting a big game here, I only have 2 players so I'll be happy with 120+ points. But this smaller game means I already have 5 players for SRH vs KKR so no transfers needed and 4 for CSK vs PBKS. Which should leave me with a surplus of transfers to spend on the following games now that all the teams are clear. Thanks for reading and I'll see you after the toss.
Can we think about Nissanka in today's game?
I actually really like Nissanka as a pick. He showed his quality in the T20wc unfortunately his century was in SL not India so not a direct comparison but he definitely has potential to score a lot of points.
So what was your final team?
