IPL Fantasy Faceoff

KKR won the toss and chose to bowl as expected. Everything is staying the same but Varun is back if you want to play him, but I will not be. Despite CSK having weak batters Varun just didn't impress me in the 2 games he played. Good luck I'll see you tomorrow!

There's a lot that could be said about the last game where I used the Indian Warriors booster but I just cover the key points. First of all captaining Ishan over Abhishek in the last second single-handedly saved my booster, not just a bullet but a whole nuke dodged. And overall that first innings went as well as it could have with NKR chipping in with the bat and Deshpande taking a wicket. Head, Bishnoi and Abhi were unfortunate disppointments but were must-have's at the time. The second game was much more problematic. To start off it's very lucky I swapped Jaydev for Hinge after he was dropped because what a DEBUT he had. INCREDIBLE. But it's bittersweet as it came at the expensive of my fantasy team as Praful Hinge took BOTH Vaibhav and Jurel who were reliable scorers until this game and Hussain took my VC causing my 3 RR batters to fall for a COMBINED ONE run!! Shivang wasn't great but Hinge more than made up for it. Deshpande also chipped in 25 runs to get a clean total of 1200. Which is good but I was really hoping for more after the first inning. But let's be honest. WHO COULD'VE PREDICTED THAT.

Now for today's game it's a clean slate of course and I'll be bringing in 3 transfer just to have a balanced team. I'll be keeping all my SRH players until their next game so Jaiswal, Jurel and Deshpande go to make room for Samson, Angkrish and Kamboj. I'm not too sure if the batters will have too good a day and this seems like a good way to cover all bases. Samson and Angkrish being the obvious C and VC picks. Should be no rain and my team gives me decent freedom for the upcoming games. Other players I considered were Green in place of Samson, he can bowl, he's cheaper and he's had a better season and looks much better on paper but I reckon Samson will maintain his momentum and against the weaker KKR bowling side, should fire again. Mhatre and Angkrish are basically equal either works I just picked Angkrish as my team's more balanced and he's scored a bit more consistently. Bowlers don't have any great options Blessing and Noor are ok but Kamboj has been great so far. I don't have an allrounders but Jamie Overton and Dube are the two obvious picks. I'd lean more Overton as he's been deadly with the ball, got far more points with 1 less game AND he's cheaper. But Dube is extremely talented and against the KKR bowlers it could be his day to get the gears turning with the risk of not getting many balls to face.

Overall simple team, good reasons to back them. Will be an interesting game between bottom of the table with CSK having a clear upper hand though. Thanks for reading and I'll see you after the toss :)
