Rivalry notes
Post toss PBKS won and SRH bats first. Same team everyone I expected is playing. Good luck to us all...
Now that enough games have finished to have a solid idea of everyone I'm willing to play some boosters. My plan is centred around targeting high scoring games while also keeping transfers as efficient as possible.
For RR vs SRH Match 21, I’m planning to use a 2x. It’s one of those matchups where both teams have strong batting and relatively weaker bowling, and on top of that it’s played at a ground that tends to produce big scores. Rajiv Gandhi has flat pitches and has been the ideal booster ground for a few years now. That combination is exactly what you want when using a major booster. The idea is to load up on players from that game early like the SRH/PBKS game and RR/RCB game which both happen today to maximise points, and then hold onto those SRH players and roll into an Indian Warriors (or 2x) for their next match against CSK. This approach is all about minimising transfers. Instead of completely resetting your team every game, you chain fixtures together so that your players stay relevant across multiple matches. It’s a much more efficient way to use the boosters now that we have more of them rather than just using 11 transfers before each match.
Another really strong pairing I’m looking at is CSK vs LSG in matches 53 and 59. The scheduling there is IDEAL. You can build the perfect team using maybe just 5-7 transfers depending on how well you plan ahead, and then because of how close the fixtures are you can just have 2-3 players for the games inbetween so you have 8 players already by the time the game repeats. You’re essentially getting a full team with very little transfer cost, which is a huge advantage.
For the rest of the boosters, flexibility is key. I’ll likely use another Indian Warriors or 2x during the playoffs depending on how things are shaping up. The wildcard is best saved for after one of those major boosts so you can reset your team without worrying about previous structure. That lets you fully commit to a strategy, then clean things up straight after.
The 3x captain and Free Hit are more situational and can be used at any point when the opportunity presents itself. I’m not locking those in just yet. A game nearing the end of the season between two titans in a ground like Chinnaswany could be ideal.
For the overseas focused booster, I'm not too sure yet. Early in the season, roles and form weren’t fully clear, but the OS players have been so bad this season I'll be holding the boosts for another 10 to 15 games should give a much better idea of which overseas players are consistently delivering. Right now, something like RCB vs GT at Chinnaswamy stands out as a potential option, but that can always change.
This plan isn’t set in stone. Things like weather, or unexpected form swings can change things. If a key game like RR vs SRH gets affected by rain, I’ll just shift focus to the next best opportunity like CSK vs LSG. The main goal is staying adaptable while still having a structure in place. Thanks for reading and good luck!
